Rooted Hold needs a hero to liberate it! In a world of fantasy, roleplaying, and puzzle-solving you have responded to the call.
- What is a DROD? DROD means DEADLY ROOMS OF DEATH. It is a fantasy puzzle RPG that will challenge and entertain you.
- You have a simple objective to direct our hero, Beethro to clear a dungeon of every pest you can find. Beethro needs to outsmart the enemies, whether it's the goblin who is trying to sneak up behind him, or the real enemy - the Architect, the person who created all the evil puzzles.
- DROD: King Dugan's Dungeon is the usual dungeon exterminator's subterranean grind: killing off thousands of roaches, chopping through tar, guzzling mimic potions, and generally ridding the King's underground chambers of all that should not be there.
As a player you can expect
- DROD is much more than a simple puzzle game. DROD is all about using your brain not only to outsmart the game, but to outsmart other players as well. Of course, it's a lot harder than it looks, as each monster and element works differently. You'll need to see the big picture of things and plan your movements ahead of time, lest you wind up becoming a roach's dinner.
- Swordplay and puzzles combine in this thinking man's dungeon crawl. It's simple to learn, with just a handful of commands to master but the unique gameplay provides amazing depth. A detailed overhead view shows monsters, obstacles, and other game elements. You have as much time as you like to contemplate your next move. You'll be hooked by the story of Beethro and his troublesome nephew, Halph. Our heroes set off on a harmless jaunt, but end up far below the surface, chased by a clownish madman. They begin to uncover a vast, underground bureaucracy, and things only get stranger the further they delve. You've got over 350 rooms ahead--each one a singular challenge for you to conquer. A level editor, online features, and enthusiastic player community make this a game you can play for years.
- Conquer and solve 25 sprawling levels with over 350 rooms and 17 types of monsters with greatly varying abilities and behavior.
- 11 different characters, some of which contribute to puzzles as well as story development.
- 15 other game elements including obstacles, potions, explosives, and tunnels.
- Incredibly active player community on Caravel Games website.
